Drug Awareness Workshop

YEAR 5 & 6 - 30 PUPILS (1 CLASS) PER WORKSHOP
DURATION OF WORKSHOP 60 MINUTES

‘CHOICES’ is an interactive theatre workshop which aims to encourage young people to make the ‘choices’ that are right for them. The hour long session explores differences and similarities between legal and illegal drugs, students are given the opportunity to voice their own opinion as we examine how peer-influence and human nature can affect the choices we make. We investigate peer-pressure and more importantly peer-preference and reflect upon our own current life choices.

A teacher’s pack with suggestions for future lesson plans, accompanies this dynamic, fun and exciting workshop; that challenges pupils to think outside the box.

Now in its 17th year in Brent Primary Schools and 11th in Harrow, the workshops continue to resonate with staff and pupils alike.

"It's an outstanding presentation and never fails to engage the children to the fullest extent. Humour always works well with children, but I think what comes across effectively is that the children and their opinions matter." - St Georges Primary School
"The children have gained great confidence from the workshop, particularly the peer influence session. Thank you for very accessible and important work." - Hobbayne Primary School
"Yet again you have come up with a stimulating, funny, challenging drama which will have lasting value to the pupils involved." - Lyon Park Junior School
