TRANSITION & CRIME AWARENESS WORKSHOP

YEAR 5 & 6 - 30 PUPILS (1 CLASS) PER WORKSHOP
DURATION OF WORKSHOP 60 MINUTES

'Staying Safe' is a unique interactive 60 minute theatre workshop perfect for students about to experience the transition to secondary school. Through dramatic scenes, role play and various exercises the session aims to reduce the chances of young people becoming a victim of crime on the school journey and beyond.

The session encourages awareness of crime, explores human nature "What we want dictates our actions!" and offers practical solutions for young people to implement immediately. We explore pre-emptive tactics and suggest strategies for dealing with an actual crime, whilst promoting caution without inciting unnecessary fear.

Now in its 10th year in Brent Primary Schools, numerous councils and organisations have commissioned this workshop.

"One of the best sessions I've seen: Purposeful - every minute counted! Important message - real life situations. Prepared to challenge children's ideas yet keep their self esteem intact. Thank you very much." - Braintcroft Primary School
"It was an awesome, empowering workshop - filled with lots of personal strategies that the children can use." - Fryent Primary School
"Pace, content of material brilliantly pitched at age level - also entertaining - I know my kids will use this." - Kingsbury Green Primary School
