Primary Schools

Wizard Theatre has been delivering various message-based shows, workshops and drama therapy sessions in Primary Schools for over 20 years.

Our journey started in West London (pst, we've visited every school in Brent, Harrow, Hounslow, Hillingdon and Ealing), before spreading further afield to the rest of London, the Home Counties, the Midlands and more recently Manchester. The Wizard theatre-in-education team consists of fully trained, experienced professional facilitators that have current DBS and full liability insurance.

Passionate about making every show a success, we work hard to craft and refine our material so that it suitable for each age group and accessible for all. Going one step further we work to tailor our material to any special requests you may have.

Secondary Schools

Acknowledging the needs of your students is of paramount importance, but going one step further to correctly communicate with them, during what can be an influential stage of their development, is critical. Much of our material can be hard hitting as we work to approach topical issues that can be difficult for students and staff to engage with, so we work with our actors about how best to tackle the topics and achieve maximum engagement. With our Power of Drama sessions we create a ‘safe-space’ for smaller groups that struggle with some of the aspects of secondary school life, improving confidence and self-esteem. The results have been outstanding.

Proudly, we work almost entirely on word of mouth, rebooking and recommendation and to date the programme has a 90% rebooking history.

Councils, Charities and Other Organisations

Wizard Theatre began life with commissions from Council’s in North and West London to focus on important issues such as Road Safety, Safety in the Home and School and Drug awareness workshops. As such, we still work closely with many Councils, Local Education Authorities, Education Providers, Academy groups and Schools, to discuss and develop new programmes. Such positive collaboration has enabled us to develop and hone our workshops further. and see growing success within the communities we serve.

If you have a particular bespoke programme in mind then please get in touch via our contact page, all ideas are warmly welcomed.

What our clients have to say…

What a privilege to be invited to the sharing of two groups of year five dramatised poems when I was visiting Harwell school last week. The team work was fantastic and the support the pupils gave each other was admirable. In only six weeks they developed such a connection with each other. I sincerely hope I’m in school next time Wizard are there.

Alan Pullinger

That was the best performance I have ever seen!

All Saints, Didcot

Our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and have made excellent progress in a range of areas, notably their confidence and self esteem. Pupils who rarely participated in class discussions have developed the confidence to contribute their thoughts and ideas, which has impacted on their progress positively in a range of curriculum areas. I would encourage others to participate in this high quality programme.

A Whelan (Associate Headteac her, St Joseph's Infant School, Wembley)

There was lots of good discussion, some very mature points raised after the workshop and reflection on how they would behave or act next year at secondary school, they felt more aware of strategies to protect themselves against potential dangers. The session was fantastic, the children were really engaged and enjoyed it.

Barham Primary School

One of the best sessions I've seen: Purposeful - every minute counted! Important message - real life situations. Prepared to challenge children's ideas yet keep their self esteem intact. Thank you very much.
